Content is still king - the importance of messaging

2 min read

The amount of content we consume is expanding at an exponential rate within our increasingly multichannel, multimedia world. Not only is the volume of content growing, but so are the mediums through which we consume it: online news and publications, emails, blogs, social media sites, video, television, and radio, to name a few. So what are you doing to stand out from the crowd?

According to the latest HubSpot State of Service report, Marketers are investing in content marketing more than they ever have before. 82% report actively using content marketing, up from 70% last year and 28% of respondents plan on newly investing in content marketing in 2021.

Consistency is key

One of the many aspects that determine the growth and success of your company is consistency in the brand message. Big brands understand how to present their image consistently across all customer touchpoints.

The same thinking applies to content marketing, your brand content needs to be unique and consistent, with its own tone of voice, style and pitch used across all channels. This consistency establishes credibility, builds brand trust and strengthens your reputation as an industry leader.

Consistency is key, but why is content king? Here are our top benefits of a consistent content marketing strategy:

Audience retention

Content that resonates with your audience has the ability to create positive experiences for your potential customers, encouraging them to keep coming back for more.

Taking this a step further, customers who have had positive experiences with your brand and find value in your brand content have the potential of becoming brand advocates and sharing their positive experiences with others.

Building trust

As we mentioned before, creating meaningful content helps your business build relationships with your audience. When your content provides value without asking for anything in return, your audience will be more likely to trust your advice and recommendations. This aids in building a positive association with your brand and in turn helps build your brand authority.

Generating leads and conversions

Content marketing is a great tool for generating leads. By building trust and sharing frequent content with your audience, they are more likely to choose you when making a purchasing decision. Including calls-to-action (CTA) in your content can help generate new leads for your sales team.

Kickstart your content marketing strategy
