When it comes to website design and development, many businesses have misconceptions about how it works. Some people believe that the only way to build a fantastic website is to get a website developer to build it from scratch, and that using pre-built website templates somehow "limits" the functionality and design of the website.

In today's world, this could not be further from the truth!

In the early days of the World Wide Web, pre-built website templates were far less common and  sophisticated, and they did not offer the levels of modification and customisation required by businesses looking to add content to their website on a frequent basis. Back then, it was still difficult for those without the knowledge to code to be able to edit a website - a website developer was still required.

However, pre-built templates have come a considerable way since then; pretty much every CMS on the market offers high quality pre-built templates that you can use as a starting point.

As an Elite HubSpot Partner, we are huge fans of many of the pre-built templates on the HubSpot template marketplace. Webpages that use these templates can be edited in real-time using an on-page editor and are mobile responsive by design!

If you are looking for cost-effective way to build your HubSpot website, HubSpot's pre-built templates are an excellent solution - and you can have your website up and running in no time at all. Anyone can edit web pages as they require no technical knowledge or coding experience and all your changes happen in real-time.

Of course, this isn't for everyone. You can, if you so wish, spend more time and money building bespoke templates and designs - that is 100% possible and we have developers to help with that. However, this approach is more expensive and requires significantly more planning and development time.

In this blog, I will share my three favourite HubSpot-built website templates to show you just how easy it is to get a fantastic-looking website in the shortest period of time.

In no particular order…

TEMPLATE ONE:

Sodium

null

Out of the box, the Sodium template is full of colour - specifically yellow - and gives off a bold, powerful impression. This template is perfect if you have a number of bold colours within your brand guidelines (it doesn't have to be yellow!).

The Sodium template pack has over 70 templates to choose from and has practically everything you need to make an outstanding website. The template pack includes everything from video backgrounds to interactive and animated modules that appear as you scroll down the page. Take what you will from the Sodium template, but it's anything but 'static'.

If you are looking to show off your brand colours, make a strong impression and show off your business using large imagery and headlines, this is the template for you.

TEMPLATE TWO:

Kalahari

null

The Kalahari template one of my absolute favourites on the template marketplace. It’s sharp, it’s smart, it's funky and it's cool. This template is perfect for any company who may have previously had a slightly boring, corporate template, and is looking for a more modern, 21st century-esque design.

It's a balanced template. It used colours that are not too vibrant or excessive, but at the same time not too cold. The result is a modern, reserved and neat look throughout.

From a practical perspective, this template is full of great calls-to-action (CTA) areas, meaning that if one of the aims of your new website is to increase the amount of conversions - this template is ready made for you.

TEMPLATE THREE:

Advisors

null

I love the Advisors template - but I would say that as we used it to build the website for our sister company, ITPR. While the Advisor templates are incredibly clear, crisp and smart, it still manages to convey that 'cool' factor that all companies in 2018 should be looking for.

All of the Advisor templates can be edited at page editor level, meaning you won't have to go into the HubSpot Design Manager interface to change anything. The main Advisor template pack comes with over 30 templates and includes everything you could possibly need. The Advisor templates combine white space with strong brand colours to give a distinct, powerful look - and anyway, if lots of white space is good enough for Apple and Google, well...

Those are my favourite HubSpot website templates - all of which are easy to edit and manage and require no technical expertise at all. If you want to build a beautiful website in HubSpot, I would urge you to take a look at the templates available on the marketplace. These might be my favourites, but there are a lot of fantastic templates available.

Of course, if you are looking for bespoke design or have specific template requirements - please get in touch with us and we can help you with your HubSpot website design.
